Playing with Fire: The Secret Life of Samantha Mcgregor, Book Three

The third book in the Secret Life of Samantha McGregor series finds Samantha McGregor, a visionary teenager in every sense of the word, awakening to a horrifying nightmare in which there is burning, explosions and way too much blood. Samantha cries out and her mother comes running. It was only a dream. Or was it? Samantha tries to assuage her mother's concerns by agreeing that it probably was just a bad dream, but inside she knows better. It's the gift that God has given her --- to see events before they happen and try to stop them from occurring.

Samantha is just getting her feet back from the previous momentous episode, in which she saved a classmate from suicide. New friend and Chemistry lab partner Garrett is now living in a safe foster home and trying to deal with his problems. Samantha feels gratified and grateful that God allowed her to intervene in his life before it was too late. Now, she is immersed in another family dilemma as her brother Zach returns home from a 90-day drug rehab stint for his meth addiction. The question is, will he stay clean or not? With her mom now dating a younger man, Zach re-entering the family homestead and police friend Ebony appointing Samantha to a new drug task force, she's feeling pulled in all directions.

And her visions are getting more vivid and dramatic as time goes on. Samantha is seeing people die from drug overdoses in bright living color, and the more she tries to forestall the future, the more she feels like she's spinning her wheels. No one who's using will listen to her, so she continues to pray and keep watch, alert to God's nudgings and offering her services to Him day by day.

Just when Samantha experiences even more frustration at her inability to stop other teens from using and abusing drugs, God miraculously orchestrates a rescue mission she'll never forget. Once again, Samantha is amazed that God has chosen her to take part in His plan to search out and save those who most need it.
