Finding Forever

Meet Brooklyn Brant, an aspiring investigative reporter with a passion to get to the truth. Just 16-years-old, the clever, candid and compulsive blogger attracts half a million viewers on her site, DeadlineDiaries.com, where she covers celebrities and entertainment. With high hopes of attending a prestigious journalism school, the ambitious Brooklyn gets her big break when teen movie queen, Taylor Prince, goes missing. The award-winning actress is taken at gunpoint from her own home the night of her 16th birthday party and Brooklyn is called on to solve the case. In his exciting thriller FINDING FOREVER, author Ken Baker introduces young readers to an endearing teenage sleuth who has the inside track on Hollywood. Heroine Brooklyn Brant proves that it’s never too early to pursue your dreams.

This action-packed novel alternates between two narratives --- Brooklyn’s investigation and Taylor’s captivity --- keeping the audience informed yet intrigued. With the help of Taylor’s personal assistant and BFF Simone Witten, Brooklyn chases down clues to the movie star’s disappearance. Meanwhile, Taylor is held against her will at the Kensington Center for Wellness and Rejuvenation, where there is “No TV. No computer. No phone. No Simone.” While the tormented teen celebrity practices yoga, eats a “‘detox diet’” and receives I.V. nutrient therapy as her captors attempt to keep her fit “forever,” Brooklyn searches background databases and Taylor’s surveillance cameras for suspects. While checking out the star’s L.A. mansion, the junior journalist finds herself face-to-face with Taylor’s kidnapper. He leads Brooklyn to his powerful boss, Dr. Peter Kensington, who is taking celebrities for an anti-aging cult.

Baker has made FINDING FOREVER a must-read, combining Hollywood, mystery and the girl next door. Move over, Nancy Drew!

Baker’s page-turning FINDING FOREVER succeeds in showcasing Los Angeles at its wackiest, where celebrities are kidnapped for an immortality program rather than for ransom. The characters are relatable and genuine, and the double narration allows the reader to get to know both Taylor and Brooklyn. While reading the novel, I found myself wishing I could be like both characters. As an aspiring journalist, I hope to be as bold and unafraid of the truth as Brooklyn. Having Taylor’s confidence and enthusiasm would come in handy in the halls of high school. Baker has made FINDING FOREVER a must-read, combining Hollywood, mystery and the girl next door. Move over, Nancy Drew!

If you’re looking to hear more from Brooklyn Brant, investigative journalist, be on the look-out for the rest of the Deadline Diaries series books.
