Emilie and the Sky World

Review

Emilie and the Sky World

After an enthralling adventure, siblings Emilie and Daniel return back home to Silk Harbor. Things look like they are going to be normal for a while until they go to visit an old friend of the family’s, Professor Abindon. She has noticed something peculiar and potentially catastrophic in the sky. As the strange phenomenon is investigated further, it is revealed to be a ship from another aetheric plane. It could just be a traveler, but it could also be something far more alarming. In order to find out, they will have to take a ship into the perilous air currents. Emilie joins the expedition and finds herself having the adventure of a lifetime.

The cover drew me into a story riddled with action, adventure, sci-fiand fantasy. As I got into the book, Emilie drew me in with her spunkiness and fierceness.

First of all, I would like to talk about the cover. I know everyone says that you should never judge a book by its cover but let’s face it: the cover is typically the first part of a book we see and is often what gives us an idea of what the book is about. Lately, I’ve found that covers have become very minimalist. They will often only have one symbol or picture which is supposed to represent the entire book. The cover for EMILIE AND THE SKY WORLD is completely different. It’s filled with so many different elements that all represent specific events in the book. It has so much detail and is very rich. This is hands down one of my favorite covers of the year.

Perhaps the best character in the book, at least in my opinion, is Emilie. She is a strong, fierce heroine. She is stubborn and persistent and always gets what she wants. However, she also learns some important lessons throughout her adventures, which turns her into a better person in the end. She realizes that people often have good reasons for doing things, even though she may not agree with them. The way the author developed Emilie was my favorite part of the entire book. EMILIE AND THE SKY WORLD immediately grabbed my attention when I first saw it. The cover drew me into a story riddled with action, adventure, sci-fiand fantasy. As I got into the book, Emilie drew me in with her spunkiness and fierceness. All these different elements came together to create a beautiful story.
