Dark Flame: The Immortals, Book 4

Sixteen-year-old Ever Bloom’s life changes dramatically in the car crash a few months back. Not only does she lose her mom, dad, sister and dog, she has to move from her home in Oregon to the unknowns of California to live with her aunt. And that’s not all. She begins seeing people’s auras, knowing their thoughts and observing the future. After finally allowing the handsome and mysterious Damen into her life, she learns the unbelievable truth: she, like Damen, is an immortal with incredible powers.

Being immortal may sound easy, but it comes with its own set of problems. In Ever’s case, it often points to bad boy Roman. Thanks to his deceit and trickery, Ever’s DNA is now toxic to her soul mate, Damen. They are faced with an eternity of never touching each other. Desperate for a cure, Ever steps into the dangerous world of spells and dark curses. But it backfires, and now she is somehow bonded to him. She has an uncontrollable attraction to Roman that is sure to destroy her relationship with Damen. She can’t even confide in Damen or ask for his help as the dark monster inside of her controls her with no mercy. It even begins terrorizing Ever’s own identity and spirit.

Also thanks to Roman, Ever now has a new problem with her friend, Haven. After Roman tried to kill Haven, Ever gave her the elixir to save her life, and hence Haven is now immortal as well. And while Haven is happily embracing the whole immortal thing with a passion, she refuses to listen to Ever’s warnings, especially those about Roman. In fact, Haven is falling in love with Roman. And she doesn’t like it one bit that Ever is attracted to him, even though the attraction stems from the fouled spell. Sparks explode between these two, who were once close friends.

Ever is also having trouble with Jude, her boss at the bookstore. She caught a glimpse of his tattoo, the same one that Roman has. Suspicions fly through Ever’s head that Jude may actually be a member of Roman’s gang, one of his immortal followers. Desperate for answers, Ever does the only thing she can think of --- put Jude’s immortality to the test. Just when Ever needs her friends for support now more than ever, she’s losing them…or maybe she’s just losing herself.
