A Work In Progress: A Memoir

A Work In Progress: A Memoir

A YouTuber and social media star, Connor Franta shares his journey from ordinary Midwestern boy with three siblings to successful celebrity in his memoir A WORK IN PROGRESS. Franta shares his love of art and creativity, as well as his struggles with getting comfortable with his body, identity and sexuality --- and what it was like to put it all on the internet for people to see.

Franta’s YouTube videos are short and sweet, and A WORK IN PROGRESS is as well. Franta really lets his humanity and selflessness flow through the book to show that he is not someone who makes videos to be famous; he makes videos to make others smile.

The book’s tasteful simplicity --- in looks and in words --- will make other authors burn with envy.

Franta and his publisher did a mesmerizing job in creating A WORK IN PROGRESS and putting his life stories together. Franta’s writing is unique --- the book reads more like a Facebook or text conversation than a very strict or formal memoir. Franta’s childhood photos and artistic photographs are displayed brilliantly in the book, with some serving as page backgrounds. The book’s tasteful simplicity --- in looks and in words --- will make other authors burn with envy.

Any fans of Franta wanting to learn more about their favorite YouTuber --- or any fans of memoirs or YouTube in general --- should pick up A WORK IN PROGRESS. It offers a window into Franta’s life, and any young adults living in this digital media-heavy, complicated world will be able to identify with it.
