A Little Something Different

Review

A Little Something Different

The most noticeable difference in A LITTLE SOMETHING DIFFERENT by Sandy Hall compared to other books is that the story is told in more than a dozen diverse viewpoints, all agreeing on one simple truth --- the main characters belong together. The novel centers on Lea and Gabe, the strikingly similar pair who allow their insecurities to prevent them from pursuing a relationship with one another. After hearing eye-witness accounts from everybody including, but not limited to, a certain acorn-obsessed squirrel, a slightly bitter bench, a passionate professor and a reminiscent bus driver, it becomes obvious to the reader that both of these college students share more than identical loves of Chinese food, Starbucks beverages, creative writing and a habit of chatting with squirrels.

Was a light, funny read that I recommend to anyone looking for a little something different.

At times it was a bit exhausting as Gabe and Lea went to and fro, doubting whether the other liked them, but ultimately the book stayed true to the real life over-analysis and hesitance of first love. All in all, this was a light, funny read that I recommend to anyone looking for a little something different.
