A Court of Frost and Starlight (A Court of Thorns and Roses)

Review

A Court of Frost and Starlight (A Court of Thorns and Roses)

A COURT OF FROST AND STARLIGHT by Sarah J Maas is the spinoff novel to the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. It takes place between the third book in the series, A COURT OF WINGS AND RUIN, and another book in the same world that the author is planning to write, but has not been announced yet.

The winter solstice is approaching and this is the first time Feyre will be celebrating with her new friends and family. But she and her close-knit group of friends are dealing with the shock of war and the shadows that still loom over them. The characters in the book help to rebuild the night court after what took place in the previous book. It is told from multiple points of view.

"The writing was perfect, as always. I am continuously amazed by how Sarah J. Maas can impress me with her writing more and more with each book she writes."

There were so many heartwarming scenes in this book that made me tear up. At one point I began to cry because of how cute the characters were being. This is definitely the kind of book that you want to read when you are feeling down!

I love each and every character in this series with all my heart. Whenever one of them would appear in the scene my heart would grow ten sizes larger. I adored the character development. Even though the book was short they all grew so much from the beginning of the book and I cannot wait to see how they mature in Sarah’s upcoming books. Feyre still has some trauma from the other three books but she has definitely begun to heal and she has amazing friends to comfort her when she needs it most.

There wasn’t much conflict in this book besides the internal conflict the characters were dealing with. Since the book was so small there wasn’t really much conflict that could fit in this book. That said, the writing was perfect, as always. I am continuously amazed by how Sarah J. Maas can impress me with her writing more and more with each book she writes.

Also, I should mention that the cover is absolutely gorgeous! It is probably one of my favorite covers ever. It is so elegant and that alone should make you want to pick this book up.

My only problem with this book was that I wanted more of it!! I needed more of the characters. When I finished the book I sat there, not satisfied with the size of the book. I want at least 200 more pages but I will take what I can get.

If you have not read Maas’s A Court of Thorns and Roses series yet I highly recommend it! I recommend this series to everyone. There are some graphic scenes so if you do not think you are mature enough then wait a while to read it but if you are into high fantasy with some romance and amazing characters then this book would be perfect for you! If you are hesitant to read A COURT OF FROST AND STARLIGHT then I say take the risk because you will not regret reading this book!
