Archives - Teenreads Monthly Update

Teen Read Week was a blast! We hope you had fun celebrating with events at your local library or school. As you might remember, staffer Elizabeth Bruce went to the Brooklyn Public Library to hear a panel with some really talented authors. Check out her blog post here. And even though the official Teen Read Week is behind us, has great new reads for you every week.

October 17-23 is Teen Read Week, the Young Adult Library Services Association’s yearly campaign to encourage teens to drop what they’re doing and pick up a book. The theme of this year’s Teen Read Week is “Books with Beat @ Your Library,” and the goal is to get as many teens as possible to step outside their literary comfort zone and explore things like poetry, audiobooks, books about music, “on the beat” crime novels, “beatdown” books about the pressures of school and problems with bullies, and tons of other cool topics.
