SEAN GRISWOLD'S HEAD is about a girl who, in dealing with her father's recently diagnosed illness, is given an interesting way to cope. She's told to find a focus object --- something to direct her emotions toward.

At least, that's why she stared at Sean Griswold's head in the beginning...

We're gving away a copy of the book in this month's grab bag here, so be sure to enter! You can also win a copy on the Bloomsbury Teen facebook page at the end of the month. Today Lindsay is here with, telling is 10 Random Things about herself.

Encouraging me to be RANDOM is very dangerous. I just want you to know what you're getting into here.

1. I love statistics, but I can't remember the actual number, so I usually make that part up. Did you know that 85% of Americans google Britney Spears weekly? Startling.

2. In fifth grade, our GATE class entered a contest to name the dolphins at the Mirage hotel in Las Vegas. I wanted Squirt, but was vetoed with Tritan. Squirt ended up winning and THAT class got a field trip. Such a painful I told you so.

3. I love the word edamame, because I can't say it, but I've spent years at sushi-restruants trying.

4. Saved by the Bell is That Show that takes me back to teendom. I was in high school in the late nineties, so by then the show was already campy. I used to memorize lines from episodes and have quote-offs with my friends. I made my brother be Zack Morris for halloween one year and dyed his hair blonde. Er, orange.

5. Yeah, I was really cool. Why do you ask?

6. When I write, I have to have my feet up. So I usually work in bed or in a chair or on the couch. When I go to a bookstore, I pull a chair over and prop up my shoes. Better than the table, right?

7. My first date with my husband was his senior prom. He asked me because his girlfriend couldn't miss a volleyball tournament, they fought and broke up a week before the big day. So being the default worked out pretty well for me.

8. I get very nervous and fangirly when I meet authors who I respect/admire. I have cried hysterically on two separate occasions. I was pregnant both times, so I had some excuse. But only some.

9. I'm the mom to 3 girls. My husband and I are both tall, and so we dreamed of a brood of tall, NBA players. I'm still pushing the WNBA, but my girls, and I quote, "don't like to get sweaty."

10. You're a really nice person. I enjoyed spending this time with you. I hope we can grow closer, become tight. Email, talk on phone, meet up. Beffies forever!
Wait, where are you going? Haha, I'm just kidding! I take back the beffie part. Friends a least?

Hey! Call me!!!
