IfYouAskMe.jpgToday's "If You Ask Me" Q&A participants, Sarah Busack from Santa Rosa, CA and Jewel from Kingston, ON, cover a wide range of genres in the books they discuss below --- from S. E. Hinton's YA classic THE OUTSIDERS and L. Frank Baum's THE WIZARD OF OZ to Perry Moore's HEROES and Carrie Jones's NEED.  Read on to find out some of their favorite recent reads and what they'd ask their favorite authors if given the chance.

If you could trade places with any character from a book for a day, who would you be and why?

I think that I'd want to switch places with Jo Larouche from THE ORDER OF ODD-FISH by James Kenndey. The book is filled with adventures and I love all of the charaters that appear in the story.

What is the last book you read? Would you suggest it to a friend? Why or why not?

I just read the book BEAUTIFUL CREATURES by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. I absolutely loved it! I definitely would suggest it. The plot kept me interested with all of its twists and turns, and the characters were developed well and were very likable.

Name three characters from a book that you'd like to invite to your birthday party.

I'd want Ponyboy from THE OUTSIDERS by S.E.Hinton because he and I are very similar. And I'd like the Cheshire Cat from ALICE IN WONDERLAND by Lewis Carroll to come too because I love that book and he's one of my favorite charaters. I think I'd also want Imogene from THE BLUE GIRL by Charles De Lint, because she's a very strong female character and she seems like a lot of fun.

Tell us about your top three favorite books of all time.

My top three books would have to be THE OUTSIDERS by S.E.Hinton, HERO by Perry Moore and AN ABUNDANCE OF KATHERINES by John Green. These are all books that I read time and time again and I highly reconmend them to anyone.

If you had the opportunity to meet any author (dead or alive), who would you choose to meet, and what three questions would you ask him/her?

I want to meet Anne Rice and I'd ask her:

Where did you come up with the idea for The Vampire Chronicles?

Do you feel like you know your charaters?

Did you base any of the charaters on someone you know/knew?

If you could trade places with any character from a book for a day, who would you be and why?

I would change places with Melody Ocean from the book I'm writing because Melody has everything that I want well everything I can't, have but she is strong even if sometimes her life is crazy.

What is the last book you read? Would you suggest it to a friend? Why or why not?

I think the last book I read was CAPTIVATE and yes, I would suggest the book. It is about how far you will go to stay with or save the one you love, even if it means being turned into a monster.

Name three characters from a book that you'd like to invite to your birthday party.

Zara White from NEED and CAPTIVATE, Zoey Redbird from THE HOUSE OF NIGHT, and Schuyler Van Alen from the Blue Bloods set.

Do you have a favorite quote from a book? If so, what is it?

No one can tell you who you can or can't be with even if it's your best friend's brother.

Tell us about your top three favorite books of all time.

I'm sorry, but I can't choose just three! I have my own personal library in my home computer room so I can't pick only three.

If you had the opportunity to meet any author (dead or alive), who would you choose to meet, and what three questions would you ask him/her?

I have a lot of favorite authors but L. Frank Baum would be the one I want meet. The WIZARD OF OZ was my favorite children's novel --- my dad use to read it to me over and over again, and dorothy is right. "There is no place like home."

What movies have you seen that were based on books? Did you like the book or film version better? Why?

I can't name all the movies I have seen, but the last one I saw was Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. I liked the book better because I can see the characters as what I see them as, instead of seeing actors.

Tell us about your favorite book series.

Too many to choose! Let's see, Twilight, Harry Potter, Blue Bloods, Need, House of Night, Alex Rider, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Evermore, and many many more.
