Matthew J. Gilbert

Matthew J. Gilbert is one of many Matthew Gilberts. Seriously, Google it. There’s like a trillion of them. This particular Matthew Gilbert is lucky enough to tell stories for a living. He’s written licensed books for Netflix’s Stranger Things and Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and he’s the co-author of the Classroom 13 book series --- which has been included on the prestigious 2018-19 Texas Bluebonnet Award Master List. Before focusing on books full-time, Gilbert spent nearly a decade working at Nickelodeon, writing everything from promo scripts to movie trailers to running the writer’s room for a daily, live TV show you’ve probably never heard of. A proud native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Gilbert now calls New York City his home.
