D. S. Thornton

Biography

D. S. Thornton

BUSINESS OWNER, magazine art director, graphic designer, freelance editor, book designer… That’s what D. S. THORNTON used to do, before it drove her off-the-frickin’-charts insane. Today, she puts her own images to paper, writing and illustrating to her heart’s content.

Ms. Thornton makes her home on the Big Island of Hawaii, where time is relative, gardening is serene, and there are way way way too many vowels. She lives with her husband, Donald (a retired newspaper editor and investigator), and their little dogs, Paco and Lucy (who as far as they know have never held a job). You can find her in the jungle hidden amid the ohias and palms, often wielding a stylus or paint brush, or, sometimes, giggling at the keyboard.

She has produced three novels and one picture book. Out in the real world, she has written for the San Francisco Examiner (Hearst years), the Peninsula Times Tribune, and for her many graphic design clients.
