Biography

Ari Bruening

Ari Bruening is an urban planner, an attorney, and a writer. He lives in Salt Lake City, Utah with his family and an overweight dog.
 
Since graduating magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor for the Harvard Law Review, Ari has published numerous articles relating to planning and zoning, theology, and history. He has practiced land use law for the past seven years and has assisted or led numerous regional visioning projects, including Our Greater San Diego Vision. Previously, he was the graduation speaker at Brigham Young University, where he received a B.A. summa cum laude in philosophy.
 
As the Chief Operating Officer for the not-for-profit Envision Utah, which engages people to create and sustain communities that are beautiful, prosperous, healthy, and neighborly, Ari spends much of his days planning and visioning urban environments. As an attorney, he spends much of his days working with clients to plan, vision, and develop their properties. As a writer, he spends his spare moments telling stories, primarily for young readers. He is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
