Angela Dominguez

Angela was born in Mexico City, grew up in the great state of Texas, and now resides in San Francisco. As a child, she loved reading books and making a mess creating pictures. She’s delighted to still be doing both professionally. Angela is currently illustrating her twelfth children’s book, and has worked with numerous publishers including Dial, Abrams, Candlewick, Children’s Book Press, and Henry Holt.

In 2013, Angela made her debut as children’s book author with LET'S GO, HUGO!, MARIA HAD A LITTLE LLAMA ( a 2014 ALA Pura Belpré Author Honor Book) and SANTIAGO SAYS. Her works have also been featured in publications including CMYK, Creative Quarterly, 3X3 Magazine, Teatrio, 826 Valencia Quarterly, College of Charleston Magazine, and numerous galleries.

Additionally, Angela teaches at the Academy of Art University in the Illustration Department, where she is the faculty adviser to AAU Children’s Book Club. She is also active with the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and is represented by Wernick and Pratt Literary Agency.
